Presence and follow mode

When several people have a document open, you can see each other work, much like sitting at the same table.

The people with the document open appear as photos or initials in the document header. Everyone’s cursor shows in the text with their name beside it.

Go to someone’s cursor

Click a person in the header to jump to where they are, or choose Go to cursor in their menu.

Follow someone

Choose Follow in their menu. Your view moves with theirs as they scroll and write, and the header shows Following with their name. It’s useful when someone is walking you through a document.

To stop, choose the X on that label, or just scroll, click or type. Following also stops when they leave.

On a phone, the people in a document are in the More menu, under People here, with Go to and Follow for each.
